11/10/2023 0 Comments Signs for art class beautiful oops![]() Students rolled dice and whatever number they rolled, they were instructed to draw certain lines or shapes using whatever color they wanted with marker. On the first day of art, students played a fun, collaborative art game called “ Roll with it” (I discuss this in more detail in a previous post). The interactive, collaborative dot display was created by my 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders. Here’s a quick video of my students having fun moving dots on their interactive, collaborative dot display, hung up in the hallway, inspired by the book “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds! The “What Should I Draw?” Jar list of ideas!.Day 3, children will put the words and pictures together to take home their own storybook in the style of Leo and Diane Dillon. Day 2, children will think of their own simple story and start the art that goes with it. Some of their books include Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears, Rap A Tap Tap, If Kids Ran the World , and I Can Be Anything! On Day 1, we will read the books by the author, discuss the art, and practice his techniques. The Dillons used the art technique called crayon resist with crayons and watercolors paints, to make some of their illustrations. This program will feature illustrators Leo and Diane Dillon. Some of their books include Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears, Rap A Tap Tap, If Kids Ran the World, and I Can Be Anything! On Day 1, we will read the books by the author, discuss the art, and practice his techniques. ![]() Registration will open Monday, October 20 for November programs. This 3 day program will be on Monday, November 13, Monday, November 20, and Monday, November 27 at 5:30PM - 6:30PM in the Bridgeville Library Meeting Room.
